My sole aim: to give your loved one the farewell ceremony they deserve.
I have created this site specifically for people who are looking for a non-religious Minister to conduct a humanist funeral ceremony in the London area. The content will help you decide if I am the appropriate person to conduct such a service for your family.
If you wish to contact me call 07932 888737 or email atmark.hayford@yahoo.co.uk. The land-line is 0207 274 1799 and my Skype address mark.hayford1
Getting in touch with me does not commit you to anything.
Please let me know what your needs are, and I will be more than happy to meet them. If you decide you want to proceed with me as your funeral celebrant you will need to contact a funeral director and tell them of your wishes. They will get in touch with me, and we will take it from there.
I usually ask for £130 plus £20 travel expenses for conducting the ceremony, although the fee is often set by the funeral director and can be slightly higher, if, for example, you want a double-slot. I am happy to come and see you for a consultation or we can speak on the phone if you would prefer to.
I have been a humanist funeral celebrant for 6 years. I trained with the British Humanist Association shortly after my father passed away. The celebrant who conducted that funeral made a big impression on me and I wondered if I too could help families to cope with such a traumatic day.
A Humanist funeral is non-religious, but if you decide you want a hymn as part of it, so long as I don't sing it (or say it) you can have it. I firmly believe that you can't get this wrong, by which I mean that I am not here to criticize your choices, I'm here to listen.
